Small Business@CIT has an enormous range of programs suitable for small business, one of which will meet your needs. Whether you want a specific skill, a short course or a full program, we provide a suite of skills offered in either face to face, flexible, simulated or online.

This site is designed to easily help you access information about Small Business@CIT’s business, finance, computing and office programs.

What's New: Export Workshops

Together with Austrade and the ACT Exporters' Network, the Canberra Institute of Technology will be conducting a series of workshops for small business operators and intenders who are looking to become involved in the export market.

The workshops will provide:

  • a step-by-step practical process to develop the plans
  • assistance by experienced business people
  • telephone support
  • skills to effectively "sell" your ideas to staff and/or funding organisations
  • feedback on your ideas
  • skills to use the electronic databases at CIT to research markets and competitors

When: The workshops will be delivered in August-October, 2007
Number of sessions: It is proposed that each workshop will have 3-4 sessions. You are able to select sessions which are relevant to your needs
Time: The workshops will be held from 5.30 - 8.00 on Wednesday nights at CIT, beginning on August 29.
Cost of workshops: $95 first workshop. Additional workshops $60

What's New: Business Skills Vouchers

Are you a tradesperson who wants to become an independent contractor or start your own business? Are you seeking skills in small business operations? To help fund your business training, you can now apply for up to $500 in Business Skills Vouchers from the Australian government. As an apprentice in a traditional trade, you can apply for vouchers from the second year of your apprenticeship up until two years after your apprenticeship is complete.
